22 Reportedly Dead After Rains and Floods Lash South India

According to officials, 22 people have been died as heavy rains flooded the state of Kerala in South India. The army and navy have been working in the region to rescue people affected by flooding and massive landslides.

In the village of Kuttikkal Village, 13 people have reportedly died according to eyewitnesses. One local resident told reporters, “There were four landslides that happened there yesterday, the hill behind me, which brought water and other items downwards.” Most of the people who died belonged to the same family.

It is expected that the region will continue to see light rainfall but emergency warnings have been lifted in most areas. The Disaster Management Committee is working to assess the damage and help the injured in the affected areas. In 2018. The state of Kerala saw one of the worst floods in history which killed around 400 people.
