Air New Zealand to Make Vaccination a Requirement for Intl Travel
The Index Today
Air New Zealand announced on Sunday it will only allow vaccinated passengers to travel internationally. The airlines CEO, Greg Foran stated, “Being vaccinated against covid-19 is the new reality of international travel-many of the destinations Kiwis want to visit are already closed to unvaccinated visitors.”
The country’s borders have remained shut since March 2020 and plans to reopen international air travel is scheduled for early next year. The airline has made vaccination mandatory to be able to fly internationally. The vaccination policy is set to be implemented from February 1st.
Greg Foran said, “As with anything, there will some that disagree. However, we know this is the right thing to do to protect our people, our customers and the wider New Zealand community.” Qantas Airlines has also said it plans to make covid vaccination a requirement for passengers who wish to travel.
