Apple Stores in Dubai Face Temporary Closures as Part of COVID-19 Precautions
The Index Today
Two of the three major Apple stores in the UAE have been shut temporarily to ensure the safety of customers and employees as part of the tech giant’s initiatives to help control the spread of COVID-19 in the region.
Apple stores in the Dubai Mall and Mall of the Emirates have been closed for a temporary period lasting till January 13th, 2022, while the Yas Mall outlet in Abu Dhabi remains open to the public. "Our stores in Dubai are temporarily closed till January 13. We take this step out of an abundance of caution for everyone's health and wellbeing, and we look forward to having our teams and customers back as soon as possible," a spokesperson for Apple told Khaleej Times.
This comes in light of Apple’s temporary closure of its stores across New York as it attempts to curb the Omicron surge. On Sunday, the UAE reported 2,759 cases with one death and 913 recoveries.
