Bentley Set to Introduce One New EV Model Yearly till 2025
The Index Today
British luxury automaker Bentley has unveiled plans to introduce one new electric car model every year till 2025. This comes after the carmaker posted record profits as it seeks to expand its electric car ventures.
According to Reuters, Bentley Crewe made a marked profit of $427.1 million for the 2021 fiscal year after surging demand for hybrid car models saw a 31% increase to 14,659 car deliveries. The company has invested 3 billion euros in its Crewe plant over the course of a decade in order to become a carbon-neutral firm by 2030. This comes as automakers across the globe switch to manufacturing electric cars as the world looks for greener alternatives.
Bentley’s Jan-Henrik Lafrentz said, "Increasing demand for our hybridized models, supported by [3 billion euros] of sustainable investment in our Crewe factory, will ensure we remain the benchmark manufacturer in sustainable luxury mobility."
