CyrusOne: Nearing Sales Deal to a Private Equity Buyer

CyrusOne Inc. is closing in a new deal to be sold to a private-equity buyer for more than $100 billion. The real estate investment trust is currently in talks with two groups, KKR & Co. and Brookfield Asset Management Inc.
With the sale, the company could gain a $10.5 billion market valuation. The firm has over 1,000 customers and operates major data centers across the country and in Europe. According to reports, the private-equity firm was in discussions to buy McAfee Corporation for $12 billion. The company has seen four CEO’s in the last two years, reflecting higher management turmoil and distrust.
KKR & Co has shown interest in the firm as it proceeds to expand in infrastructure and investing. The company has over $460 billion in assets and has raised approximately $15 billion for a global fund this quarter. On the other hand, Brookfield Asset Management Inc. has assets worth $110 billion in areas of transport, data sectors and midstream. The company currently has around 54 data centers and is expanding into other sectors.
