European Futures Dip amid Volatile Ukraine-Russia Tensions

European stock markets are poised to drop on Thursday as investors remain vary of the increasingly unstable conditions in Eastern Europe marked by escalating geopolitical tensions between Russia and Ukraine.
CAC 40 futures in France and Germany’s DAX futures contract plummeted by 0.3% and 0.5% respectively at 2am ET (0700 GMT). The U.K.’s FTSE 100 futures contract also dipped by 0.2%.
Earlier this week, stock markets witnessed a recovery after Russia announced the withdrawal of its troops from the Ukrainian border. However, the latest reports from the White House and NATO claim differently, setting investors on edge yet again.
On Thursday, the probability of war escalated even further with Russian troops accusing the Ukrainian government of having dropped mortars in their domain.
