The Index Today
Google has been slapped with a fine after a Russian watchdog found it to have violated the country’s antitrust legislation.
On Thursday, Russia’s Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) revealed that they had “found that the rules related to creating, suspending and blocking accounts and handling of user content on YouTube were non-transparent, biased and unpredictable." They also added that the penalty amount will be ascertained during its administrative investigation of the issue.
The American tech giant faces penalties over alleged breach of laws pertaining to suspending and blocking accounts on YouTube.
In a statement, the company said, "Google is waiting for the full text of the decision in order to examine it."
