Gucci Sales Skyrocket beyond Pre-Pandemic Rates with the Arrival of New Collection

The Index Today

Kering’s Gucci on Thursday reported a staggering surge in fourth-quarter sales, well above its pre-pandemic figures, surpassing forecasts.

Gucci posted a 31.6% sales surge that helped Kering’s overall revenue soar by 31.9% to 5.41 billion euros ($6.14 billion) during the fourth quarter of 2021, which was also spurred by its 100th anniversary celebrations.

Their new Aria collection, which was released in September last year, coupled with the Lady Gaga-starrer film “House of Gucci” successfully thrust the luxury brand into the spotlight.

In a statement, Kering’s CEO Francois-Henri Pinault said, “We are confident we will extend last year’s momentum in 2022 and in coming years.”

This surge comes after its key competitor LVMH SE also reported a sharp growth in sales as pandemic recovery marks increasing demand for luxury goods.
