Huawei, Honor and Motorola Look to Introduce Latest Foldable Phones in Chinese Markets
The Index Today
Huawei Technologies Co., its erstwhile brand Honor, and Motorola are looking to launch their new foldable phone models in China against other competitors in the market.
The companies are entering into the competitive Chinese smartphone market with Huawei’s $1,410- P50 Pocket, Motorola’s third Razr clamshell model, and Honor’s debut foldable handset.
As per IDC data, the smartphone market is anticipating a major upswing with a record 1.35 billion deliveries set to arrive in 2022. Notable Chinese smartphone companies such as Oppo and Xiaomi Corp. have debuted their own foldable handset models this year joining the ranks of market leader Samsung Electronics Co. who has established itself as a pioneer in the field of foldable and flip smartphones.
The local market is currently the focus of Chinese companies due to the fact that Samsung has failed to capture the interests of the highly techno-dexterous consumer population in the country, despite having achieved marked success in the U.S. commercial scene.
