Japan’s New Stimulus Package Blueprint to be proposed by Early November

The Index Today

Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida will lead a panel to develop a new stimulus package for next year. The proposal is expected to be finalized by early November and is aimed at minimizing the effect of the Covid pandemic.

Fumio Kishida has initiated the panel to formally debate about the new-style capitalism he wishes to implement in the system along with views on reducing income disparities among Japanese. Economy Minister Daishiro Yamagiwa said, “The proposal will include some steps that go into the stimulus package. It could also touch upon issues related to tax.”

The stimulus package expected to cost several trillion yen and will center on providing aid to regular households which have suffered the most due to Covid. The finalization of the stimulus package is yet to be discussed with more reforms underway.
