A member of Kyrgyzstan’s parliament, Karim Khanjeza, has proposed plans to legalize cryptocurrency in the country.
According to DailyCoin, Khanjeza voiced his support for crypto at a meeting with the parliamentary committee on law and order, and called for legislative provisions and adjustments to be made to incorporate digital currencies into the country’s economy.
Hailing India’s recent positive move on crypto, the MP said, “Nothing is growing as fast as cryptocurrency. India has already announced that it will become a global hub for virtual assets.” Khanjeza also revealed plans of establishing a national cryptocurrency in Kyrgyzstan under the guidance of its central bank to enable the advancement of the country’s standing as a digital asset-friendly nation.
The Kyrgyzstan government has already sanctioned provisions to facilitate crypto exchanges in the country with Bitcoin legally recognized as a commodity.
