New iPhone Feature to Enable Payments in Cryptocurrency

The Index Today

An upcoming feature in Apple iPhones is set to allow users to accept payments in cryptocurrency.

Apple Inc. revealed that their soon-to-launch Tap to Pay update would permit merchants and businesses to transact contact-free payments in the form of crypto. The company announced that the new feature will also be contiguous with “Apple Pay, contactless credit and debit cards and other digital wallets.”

Although this feature does not include provisions for the direct procurement of goods and services through Bitcoin (BTC), it would enable the conversion of cryptocurrency to its required corresponding value in dollars.

Apple plans to include the Tap to Pay feature in iPhone XS and newer models.
