Nikkei: Apple Set to Slash iPhone, AirPods Production due to Dipping Demand
The Index Today
Apple Inc. is scheduled to trim its production of iPhones and AirPods on account of weakening demand stemming from the Ukraine-Russia crisis and soaring pandemic-induced inflation, reported Nikkei.
According to Reuters, Nikkei reported the tech giant’s plans to slash 20% of its iPhone SE production by 2-3 million devices owing to lesser demand.
The company is also set to reduce its output of AirPods wireless headphones by over 10 million units for 2022 due to weakening demand in the markets spurred by mounting inflation and the geopolitical tensions between Russia and Ukraine. Additionally, Apple has also asked its suppliers to cut back on the production of its iPhone 13 as per seasonal demand.
