The Index Today
Officials from South Korea have reportedly tested positive for COVID-19 after attending the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) last week in Las Vegas, United States.
According to sources, over 30 bureaucrats have received positive diagnosis for the virus. Officials from SK Group and Samsung Electronics were among those who contracted COVID-19 after attending the tech show.
According to Son Young-rae, a senior official of South Korea’s health ministry, "Many Korean businesspeople who attended CES ... are now confirmed to be infected with COVID-19." However, he assured that the country’s ministry is actively monitoring the situation by “conducting epidemiological investigations”, while also urging other attendees to undergo PCR tests at the earliest to help control a potential spread.
