The Index Today
As study conducted by the National Institutes of Health showed that people who took the Johnson & Johnson covid shot had a better response from a booster shot with Pfizer of Moderna.
The study comprised of 450 adults who had previously had covid vaccine shots from Pfizer, Johnson & Johnson or Moderna. The group showed effectiveness of booster shots and safety levels. The U.S Food and Drug Administration FDA is expected to meet later this week to discuss booster shots for Moderna and Johnson & Johnson vaccines.
Officials said J&J’s regulatory submission for booster shots has raised concerns over small sample size, data collection and validity. The White House has announced plans to roll out booster shot programs in the upcoming months. This has put pressure on Health Officials to provide advice and data on booster doses offered by J&J or Moderna.
No significant Safety concerns have been linked to mixing various vaccine doses and booster shots. According to the study, different booster shots led to a higher or similar antibody response in the individual. The trial was conducted across 10 major cities in the U.S with a test of nine various combinations of booster shots.
