Despite an occurring shortage for semiconductors around the world, Tesla’s Shanghai unit is on course to manufacture 300,000 cars in the initial months of the year followed with a delivery rush during July and September.
The Shanghai unit has been manufacturing electric Model 3 sedans and the Model Y sports utility cars for markets in Germany, Japan and other countries. China Passenger Car Association released information showing that the company shipped around 240,000 vehicles in the first eight months of the year. However, Tesla has not provided any details regarding stated production levels.
An official located within close proximity to the factory has said the company will be producing 450,000 vehicles this year out of which 66,100 are for export purposes. Tesla has declined to respond to comments on the matter.
