Tesla Hikes U.S. Prices in Car Models amid cutting about 10% of its Employees
The Index Today
On Thursday, Tesla (NASDAQ:TSLA) Inc increased its prices for all its car models in the United States amid ongoing global supply-chain issues.
Recent price shows on their website that the electric carmaker increased its Model Y long-range price to $65,990 from $62,990 amid the delay of the deliveries of some long-range models in the United States by up to a month.
The price hike is also because of the costs of raw materials have surged, including aluminum that is used in cars.
Tesla’s Chief Executive Officer Elon Musk has also warned about the risk of a recession in previous weeks. Earlier this month, Musk said he had a "super bad feeling" about the economy after cutting about 10% of jobs at Tesla.
