Tropical Storm in Philippines Leaves 19 People Dead

At least 19 people have died after a tropical storm hit the Philippines on Thursday. Response Officials have said they are currently investigation the death of 11 more individuals who may have died due to the tropical storm Kompasu.

The storm has caused flash floods and dangerous landslides in the northern region of the country. Latest reports show that an additional 14 people have been reported missing. The powerful storm has left one person dead in Hong Kong where it became more powerful as it inched closer to the ocean.

Kompasu made landfall in China and weakened as it headed towards Vietnam, with winds of 40 miles per hour.
