Turkish Unemployment Shows Decline of 11.5% amid Pandemic

Turkey’s unemployment rate in September fell by 11.5% in comparison to last month’s data which showed a decline of 11.8%. On the other hand, seasonally adjusted measure of Labour underutilization increased to 21.9%.
The measure for labour underutilization went up during the earlier months of the year and peaked at the covid lockdown in 2020. The participation rate for labour also went up by 0.5% points whereas last month’s figure was recorded at 51.7%. This information was released by the Turkish Statistical Institute and was in line with the new international standards format.
