U.N. Food Agency: Global Food Prices Soar to Record Level in March

Global food prices have surged to a record high in March spurred by the ongoing geopolitical upheaval in Ukraine and Russia, as per a statement from the United Nations’ (UN) food agency.

According to Reuters, the Food and Agriculture Organization’s (FAO) food price index which records the most traded food commodities in the world, showed an average of 159.3 points in March compared to February’s 141.1.

This comes after February previously set a record of 140.7.
