U.S Senator Manchin Criticizes Bernie Sanders for Supporting Biden Spending Plan

The Index Today

Bernie Sanders received much criticism from U.S Democratic Senator Joe Manchin for supporting President Joe Biden’s multi-trillion dollar spending package.

On Friday, The Charleston Gazette-Mail published news regarding Bernie Sanders asking the Democratic Party to look into wealth inequality, rising healthcare costs and childcare costs. Manchin released a statement saying, “Senator Sanders answer is to throw money on an already overheated economy while 52 other senators have grave concerns about this approach.”

The bill put forward by the democrats has received little support from republican counterparts. Krysten Sinema has declared she will not vote for the spending package which is a $3.4 trillion price tag that includes proposals for climate change and social programs.
