The Index Today
United Arab Emirates announced that it will resume issuing visas to all tourists from all countries that are fully vaccinated against the COVID-19, yesterday, a month before the Expo 2020 in Dubai.
The announcement comes in the middle of a drop in COVID infections in the country, after reporting less than 1000 cases per day last week. It is said that the UAE’s decision to reopen its doors to tourists from all countries were taken to achieve sustainable recovery and economic growth.
Tourists are eligible to enter UAE if they are fully vaccinated with one of the Covid-19 vaccines approved by the World Health Organization, which include AstraZeneca, Johnson & Johnson, Moderna, Pfizer/BioNTech, Sinopharm, and Sinovac.
Passengers arriving on tourist visas must take a mandatory PCR test at the airport.
While living in the country has largely returned to normal amid the Covid pandemic, it continues to enforce strict rules on wearing masks and social distancing.
Dubai is ready to set to open for the EXPO 2020 this October and now starting to attract millions of visitors and boost the economy.
The UAE has so far recorded more than 715,000 cases of coronavirus infection, including 2,036 deaths.
