World’s First NFT Art Museum Opens its Doors in Seattle
The Index Today
The world’s first NFT art museum has been inaugurated in Seattle with the goal of “pull[ing] back the curtain” on blockchain art.
As per Reuters, the museum opened on January 14 and is serving as a physical platform for artists, collectors and creators to showcase their works in non-fungible tokens (NFTs) with the express purpose of acquainting the public with the new form of digital art.
Seattle NFT Museum’s co-founder and curator, Jennifer Wong said, "We really realized the impact of being able to look at this type of art in a way where you actually slow down, you see all the details."
As per Irish firm Research and Markets’ March report, the world NFT market is predicted to surpass $21 billion in growth this year.
Peter Hamilton, the co-founder of the Seattle NFT Museum, said, "An NFT is really just a contract that signifies the ownership of an asset of some kind." He added, "These tokens...are basically a contract that says this serial number belongs to this piece of art, and if you own this token, you are the rightful owner."
