India’s “Nightingale” Lata Mangeshkar Dies at 92
Fans are mourning the passing of veteran Indian singer Lata Mangeshkar, popularly known as ‘the nightingale of Bollywood”.

The 92-year old had been battling COVID-19 and pneumonia in the hospital since early January when her condition took a turn for the worse on Saturday, which culminated in her demise on Sunday, February 6th, 2022.
The singer’s funeral was held in Mumbai with full state honors and attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other notable figures from Bollywood.
The legendary musician began singing at the age of five and has a decorated career spanning eight decades, having sung nearly 30,000 songs in 36 different languages.
To mark her passing, the flags at the Indian Embassy in Abu Dhabi and the Consulate General of India in Dubai will fly at half-mast for two days.
