White House Secretary Jen Psaki told reporters,

There will be six components. Some of that will be related to access to testing, some will be related to mandates, some will be related to how we ensure kids will be protected in schools.”

Due to the growing apprehension against vaccines among the public, the fear of the virus spreading among school-going kids is growing. The CDC recently disclosed studies regarding the Delta Variant and how it may affect minors. It is also important to note here that the rate of hospitalizations has increased in various states including Alaska, Kentucky, Idaho, Hawaii, and Washington.

Florida has reported struggling funeral homes as the death rate continues to go up. Approximately 345 people died every day from Covid in the state.

President Biden has also announced plans for booster shots to start from the 20th of September. The plan includes vaccine requirements for all public-sector employees as well as nursing home employees. Jen Psaki said,

“We’ve seen that there is a range of ways to increase vaccinations. One of them is private sector companies mandating, in different capacities, that their employees get vaccinated, or certain schools districts mandate. Another is certainly fear of the Delta variant. And we need to continue to take more steps to make sure school districts are prepared and make sure communities across the country are prepared.”
