Shang-Chi and Spider-Man Score Big with Oscar Nominations in 2022

Marvel’s Shang-Chiand the Legend of the Rings and Spider-Man: No Way Home have hit a major milestone, having earned Oscar Nominations for Best Visual Effects.

This comes as after actor Tom Holland who plays the titular character in Spider-Man: No Way Home, said, "We're all incredibly proud of the film. It would obviously be a huge honor if it was nominated for an Oscar, but that's not how we like to validate ourselves."

The nominations for the two Marvel films were announced amid ongoing debates on the possibility of superhero movies being considered for the prestigious Academy Awards.

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Rings and Spider-Man: No Way Home are up against three other films, namely Dune, No Time to Die, and Free Guy, under the Best Visual Effects category for the 94th Academy Awards which will be held on Sunday, March 27th.
