Ted Lasso Wins Big At The Emmys Bringing Home 7 Awards

If we’ve learned anything from Apple’s hilarious TV Series, “Ted Lasso”, is you don’t need to be a fan of football to enjoy the show! The TV show became a worldwide hit following its launch in August and has gained recognition for its culture-clash comedy.

Ted Lasso made history at the Emmys 2021 by becoming the most nominated freshman TV series and taking home a total of seven Emmys. The show bagged Emmy awards for outstanding supporting actress, best supporting actor, outstanding lead actor, outstanding comedy series, outstanding lead actor, and creative arts Emmy Awards.


The show was launched in August last year as the pandemic forced viewers to stay indoors. Apple took this opportunity to provide an entertaining series to people on Apple TV. The show was not advertised heavily and grew in popularity through word-of-mouth recommendations.

Ted Lasso became an instant hit with its comforting tone that struck a chord with audiences everywhere. The lead character played by Jason Sudeikis portrays an unshakeable good mood which retaliates with compassion and humility. His endearing character manages to lift the spirits of his fellows’ colleagues even through troubling times.


The show is mainly shot around a one part locker room and the club's football pitch. Ted Lasso combines thoughtfulness, uncensored humor, and positive vibes all on one platform. Apple TV has pitched for another season which may be the season finale for the show.
