Stars are Back for the Highly-Anticipated Venice Film Festival 21’

Updated: Sep 1, 2021

This year, the 78th edition of the Venice film festival is expected to host a starry line-up of celebrities from all over the world.

The festival showcases a selection of upcoming films and presents awards to some of the best chosen. Last year’s festival was somewhat deserted due to the pandemic and ongoing health crisis. However, festival organizers are working hard to make the 11-day film marathon as safe as possible for attendees, following strict safety protocol.

Face masks, negative PCR tests, health passports, and social distancing are just a few of the measures to be implemented throughout the venue. It has also been revealed that theaters will only open at half capacity and crowds will not be allowed to gather outside to see celebrities.

Festival director Alberto Barbera stated,

Everybody everywhere is eager to come back, to reopen, to restart, to release the films that stayed on the shelf for a year and a half or maybe two years.”

According to sources, most screenings at the festival are already sold out and attendance for celebrities will be at an all-time high.

The red carpet at the festival is expected to be busy, hosting celebrities from everywhere, including Jessica Chastain, Matt Damon, Ben Affleck, Zendaya, Timothee Chalamet and so many more.

A number of movies are eagerly hoping to compete for the Golden Lion award for the best film such as “The Power of the Dog” starring Benedict Cumberbatch, and Kristen Stewart’s movie as Princess Diana. Paolo Sorrenini is among the many famous directors in the line-up along with five female directors.
